11/24/13. The first leg of this five state road trip had us leaving Louisiana on a cold, windy day and crossing up through Mississippi into Alabama. The drive through Mississippi (pic. 1) was beautiful - the magnolia trees are so big down in the gulf states. We were very impressed with I-59 (pic. 2). The road was in great condition, the median was nicely mowed and there was no garbage anywhere!
