Cozumel, Mexico; 3-16-15
My favorite thing for breakfast in the Windjammer is a certain kind of bread. I always thought it was potato bread with fruit baked in it. The manager of the Windjammer told me it was regular bread but cooked really slowly, not potato bread at all. Every morning I ended up having the same thing - two eggs over medium (from the egg bar cooked right on the spot) and two pieces of this special bread. YUMMY! After I had coffee first, of course!
We had no plans or excursion lined up in Cozumel today since we've been here before. We did leave the ship to wander around the shops by the pier. We're docked almost 2 miles from the actual town. We did find it odd that there was a drug sniffing dog sniffing all of our bags as we left the pier and walked onto land. We were docked next to a Celebrity ship (both lines owned by Royal Caribbean). As you can tell, she was bigger than our ship!
I was wearing my Seattle Seahawks visor and, of course, all the "salesmen" kept calling for me to come buy their Seattle Seahawks stuff.
I finally relented and bought a backpack. At first the guy said he had one but then he couldn't find it so I walked away. We walked outside the pier area but everything was under construction so we turned around and came back inside the area and started heading back to the ship. The same guy saw me and said he'd found the bag. He wanted $25. I told him that was too much. He then asked for $20. After dickering a bit more, I paid $15! I used it the rest of our trip!
The sales guy insisted this bag was made in Cozumel and not China! LOL
After coming back on board, we spent the rest of the day in the Solarium enjoying the pool and the quiet of the ship with most of the passengers on land. We also enjoyed a refreshing drink (not a "Diamond" drink since those are only during the 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. cocktail hour).
Since we were in port, I was able to get caught up with texts, emails and Facebook for free thanks to T-Mobile! Love their free international plan!
We had a Diamond drink at the Pool bar before dinner and stocked up on cookies at Latitudes for later in our cabin before calling it a night! We had an early morning the next day in Belize and needed to get ready for that. Plus it was "Wash & Fold Laundry" day the next day and we needed to get our dirty clothes together.
