Day 3 - All day with the Giorlandos

We woke to a beautiful day, blue sky and sunny. I didn't sleep very well since Captain Pip's only has double beds. Yes, I said double beds. Going from a king size bed at home, and in the hotels we stay at, to a double bed. Yikes, it was a huge adjustment. But we got cold during the night so ended up sleeping very close together to keep warm so I guess it wasn't so bad after all!

Looking out our window to the gulf.

We were on the second floor - you can just see our kitchen window peeking through the palm trees.

While we waited for Frank & Diane to come get us, we wandered around a bit to check out the area. There were little baskets hanging from the trees with what I thought were fake orchids but lo and behold they were live orchids. They were beautiful. I'd never get them to grow like that at home.

By the time Frank & Diane got there it was raining. We waited it out inside for awhile (letting Frank sit on the soft couch and watch TV) before heading back to their camp to check their tent to make sure it wasn't flooding. We stopped at 7 Mile Bridge to walk a bit between rain showers for a pic or two.

I was able to take a few more pics of their camp. Frank & Diane have really thought of everything for their winter rustic home in the Key!

Their camp spot is on the point.

The back side of the point.

We went to No Name Pub for a drink and, of course, I had to leave my dollar like everyone else in the world who ever left their dollar. I had to show my team support and since Diane is an artist let her draw my dollar. She drew the Seattle Seahawk on one side with Go Hawks on the other. Jim stapled it to the ceiling!

My dollar front and center!

We continued on to Sparky's Landing for Happy Hour of wings & shrimp (no shrimp for me thank you) before dinner.

And finally a stop at the beach to walk off dinner and feel just how warm that water was. It was so nice to walk barefoot in the warm sand in the warm water!

When we got back to Captain Pip's we took one final walk out to the end of the pier at the marina for one final pic of the day with Frank & Diane. It was so fun to visit with them and we can't wait to find a time to hook up with them again in the near future!
