Cruise Day 7

Sea Day; 3-20-15

It was another calm day at sea. Captain Marek said he'd never had this many calm sea days. There was only one evening that we had seas up to 5 feet and they didn't last very long at all. Yesterday I had refused to walk the stairs anymore. It was 112 stairs from Deck 3 to Deck 9 which is where the Solarium and Windjammer is located. After 5 days of doing that several times a day, I'd had enough so it was elevator time for me.

About mid-morning, Captain Marek announced that we were passing Cuba on the starboard side of the ship - you could barely see land since it was about 7 miles away. Other than his Noon announcement every day, and the announcement about the raft that was adrift, and the announcements when we were coming into port, there were few announcements anymore. No more BINGO BINGO BINGO! It was awesome! I always thought all the announcements all during the day were getting out of hand.

We used our free lunch coupon at Giovanni's today. It's a regular sit-down affair with four different courses. That's just too much for us in the middle of the day so we opted for the main course (lasagna) and dessert (tiramisu).

There were some pool activities today and one in particular that Captain Marek participated in. I didn't want to get too close but I wanted to get a picture of him since he was a very nice looking captain!

It was also time to finish packing. We had gotten our notice where to pick up our rum the next morning. They waste no time - 6:30 a.m. come and get it! LOL I was there and got it, too!

We also got our number to get off the ship. Since we're Diamond, we're #5 group to get off.

I finished up our free internet minutes with another email home. The rest of the day and evening was very lazy. We gave Nikali a nice extra tip ($) for making sure our room was made up for the evening early (since we were early birds this cruise) and making sure our ice bucket was always full of ice. Our luggage was outside before 9:00 p.m. (I think the cut-off was 11:00 p.m.) and our wake-up call was set for 5:30 a.m.

It was a relaxing cruise; I got my rum; but we did miss our cruising buddies!
