Day 1. Boarded Serenade of the Seas in New Orleans.

We got to the cruise terminal early (about 10:15) and walked right up to the check-in counter.  We then only had about a half hour wait before we could board (pics. 1 and 2). We've never been this early before so didn't know we would be boarded by class (we're Emerald and ahead of us is Pinnacle,  Diamond+ and Diamond).

Once on-board we headed right to the Windjammer! It didn't open for lunch until 11:30 (pic. 3) and we were ready because we don't want to miss any eating opportunity (hahaha)!

After eating, we hung around at the back of the ship waiting for Muster at 3:30 (pics. 4 and 5). The paddle boat American Queen is docked behind us (pic. 6). One of these days (okay, probably months) we'll have to take one of these paddle boat river cruises.

We were already enjoying Happy Hour when we had one last view of New Orleans (pic. 7) as we were heading down the Mississippi River to the Gulf of Mexico!

Happy Hour today was between 4:00 and 6:00 with 20% off all drinks. Between Jim and Tracy they decided we needed 3 rounds of margaritas - yikes (pic. 8 and 9).

After a good dinner and listening to some music, we were in bed by 8:00. It was a good day!
